Nice Surprise

I will admit that I planned on giving this a rating of a 3 and then a 4. But the author won me over, and I can whole-heartedly give this book a rating of a five with only a few objections. I will mention those later. This is a fantastic true story from the author's own life that will inspire you.

I did not care for the first couple chapters. Why? Well, the author is a Mormon, and I have some very different views on heaven and angels and the afterlife. I was concerned that this was going to be the whole thrust of the book.

I am so glad I did not give up during those first couple chapters. As I continued to read, the author's faith absolutely humbled me. There is no way to explain the events of her life except for the work of God. The way she clung to her faith when everything was against her inspired me. I actually wondered if I would ever be able to demonstrate such faith as her.

As I continued to read, I found the author saying things that really spoke to me. I don't want to take away from anything she said, but it was good to hear someone say that we must not neglect taking care ourselves, and we must rely solely on God to accomplish our purpose in this life.

I want to thank the author for writing such a heartfelt book. I highly recommend this book to everyone. It honestly makes not difference if you do not agree with the author's faith--I believe everyone can glean something from this lady's writing.

This book is not just about "one woman's life-altering" visit with God. Reading about the author's experiences can be life altering for you as well. Learn some really in depth descriptions about how God really feels about us, all of us, and about what your real potential is and how to reach it. Many of us have been taught about where we came from, but the details in this book truly helped make it real for me.

A heart-warming look at one woman's experiences with God.

This book touched my heart in many ways and not just because I'm a member of the same church as the author. Being an introvert myself, I know how hard it can be to share experiences and feelings with the world. It leaves one vulnerable. I admire the author for being so open when it was so hard for her to do so, something she admits in the book itself. I think the parts I related to the most were her internal struggles. Maintaining one's self worth in the face of a world that is so very focused on criticism and controversy is an on-going battle for many. While the methods that JoAnna uses to overcome depression will not work for everyone, they provide a feeling of hope, hope that such challenges can be overcome.

Still, the parts of the book that impacted me the most were the insights the author shares about God, Our Heavenly Father and how much He loves every one of us. I appreciated that she shared her journey of discovery and pointed out the things that allowed her to gain these insights. The things she shares agree with so much of what I myself have come to know about our Heavenly Father and why he allows us to experience so many heart-wrenching things. For those who are struggling and need a lift, need help in finding their way, this book provides hope that there is always one door that can be opened by us, between God and ourselves.

This is a really fun book to read, a typical Dr Seuss treasure. I purchased this book for my daughters first birthday party and had all of the guests write well wishes and notes for her to read as she got older. Now when she reads the book she has these lovely messages to remind her of how much she's loved and it made her first birthday that much more special!

I am a HUGE fan of Dr. Seuss books. I ordered this book for my sister's baby shower. It was a reading theme. I thought this would be the perfect book for a sign in book. It worked out perfectly. The book is normal size, not small like most Dr. Seuss books. I was super excited about this because it gave us more room to sign names. It is the original Dr. Seuss book with the beautiful illustrations! This book is now an amazing keepsake for my unborn niece or nephew! The book is generously informative but lacks practical application examples.

Despite the occasional grammatical and spelling errors, Hans Berger has written a clear book based mostly on theory and operation of the Siemens S7-1200 PLC equipment, contrasting the original software user guide offered by Siemens, which offers minimal guidance for successful programming. My impression has been that the original guide was poorly translated from German to English. This book clears up so much of the confusion that the original guide creates. All aspects and features of the S7-1200 system are covered, in-depth, by the author. My only reservation is that not enough practical examples are included. More real-world applications and examples would have easily enhanced this book. Fervent readers will find only barren examples of function block diagram (FBD), structured code language (SCL) and ladder logic (LAD) programming. Hopefully, other published books by Hans Berger have been embellished above this one. The Amazon price was considerably less expensive than prices on other websites for the same book, hence my primary reason for purchasing through Amazon. Many illustrations and figures appear faint and faded, creating a constant challenge to the reader wishing to learn from the material.

Configuring the Siemens S7-1200 series of CPUs for process control

Hans Berger gook contains a lot of detail on every one of the rules that go into the CPU and supporting control systems. But it lacks real examples to illustrate. As engineers we would like to see several examples to illustrate the points after all the detail is presented. Parts of the book were extremely helpful, but other parts were hard to follow without examples. We look forward the the next edition on the S7-1500 series under V12, which we have placed on order.
